Neck & Back Pain

Scoliosis:

Scoliosis is when the spine becomes rotated and curved sideways. About 3% of the population is estimated to have this condition. Most cases have an unknown cause.

CAN I GET SCOLIOSIS FROM HOW I SLEEP, OR WHAT I CARRY?
No. Most cases of scoliosis have no known cause, though it does tend to run in families.

THREE TYPES
There are three types of idiopathic (no known cause) scoliosis, divided by the age when a person developed the condition. Infantile, juvenile, adolescent. Adolescent scoliosis, when the condition develops between the ages of 10 and 18, is the most common.

WILL I FEEL SYMPTOMS?
Smaller curvatures have little or no signs or symptoms, even if they qualify as scoliosis. Idiopathic scoliosis is not thought to consider significant pain in adolescents and young adults, but the trunk imbalance and other issues can lead to other health problems.
